Paws Microchip.

Helen has been Microchipping small animals in practice all her working life and has seen many a chip old and new. In February 2009 she re-qualified in subcutaneous implantation through idENTICHIP, to bring her skills up to date with the new implantable biosensor for pets. idENTICHIP with Bio-Thermo incorporates a standard ISO identifier with a biosensor to allow the temperature of an animal to be taken at the press of a button. Implanted in the normal position this microchip enables the scanner to monitor temperature repeatedly, if required, without the disadvantages and discomfort of using a rectal thermometer.

Paws In Daws does not routinely stock the Bio-Thermo chip, as it is more expensive than the standard chip and only really beneficial in practice. We also do not wish to be in competition with our support practices around Kent, Surrey and Sussex who can implant these for you during their surgery time. However if at special request you wish to have the Bio-Thermo implanted at home, we can liase with your practice to obtain their blessing.

However.....

The Paws Chip is a standard ISO identifier exactly the same in everyway as the Bio-Thermo chip, it just does not have the biosensor. This chip is therefore much more popular with clients, because it is cheaper. We have a  permanant stock and at your request can come and implant your pet in the comfort of their own home. Ideal for nervious dogs and particularly cats who get distressed at travelling to visit their Vet. This procedure is over in minutes and could be a lifeline if your pet was ever stolen or missing. These days identifying your pet is routine and necessary it enables you to:

•  Prove ownership.
•  Use the latest technology and give your pets the freedom they  deserve (see Sureflap).
•  Travel abroad.
•  Importantly help find them if they should ever go missing  or be  involved in an accident.

Paws In Daws has the latest Identichip Reader, which reads all makes of chip including the new Bio-thermo. If you wish to have your pet scanned to check its chip is still in place, record its number for insurance, take in a rescue with no paperwork or find a stray and need to see if it is chipped, please do not hesitate to call us.

Our chips are supplied by idENTICHIP and manufactured by Digital Angel, world leader in microchip technology. They have the unique Bio-bond proven anti-migration collar which prevents migration of the microchip post administration and we use siliconised needles for ease of insertion, which reduces any stress, pain or discomfort. Pets dont even realise they are being Microchipped on the majority of insertions we do and it is all very quick!

This requires that every dog, while in a public place, wears a collar with the name and address of his owner inscribed on it or on a disc attached to it. Paws In Daws can arrange custom made Pet Tags and identification for dogs and cats of all sizes.
